You describe your characters and, optionally, an idea. Our storyteller first plans a short screenplay (a logline, three acts, a goal for each character and a set of scenes), reviews it for originality, then writes it chapter by chapter as a conversation between your characters. Each story is new; it is never filled into a fixed template.

Stories are written to be calm and kind: no villains who truly threaten, no frightening surprises, affectionate teasing only, and every story ends with everyone safe and sleepy. You choose the mood, and the reading level follows the youngest character's age.

Your characters and your stories are private to your account. When a story is shared as a public template, names, ages and places are replaced with placeholders, so nothing that identifies your family is published. You can delete any story, character or your whole account at any time.

English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian, Portuguese, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu use natural studio voices. German, Dutch, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic and Russian are translated and read by your device's own voice.

The first chapter is usually ready in under a minute and narration starts seconds after that. You can listen while the rest is written.

Yes. StoryChoose works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers, and you can add it to your home screen like an app. Lock-screen and headphone controls work while a story plays.

Yes. On Plus and Family you can create a private family link that plays the story without an account, and turn it off whenever you like.

Yes. Free includes three new stories every month, up to ten minutes each, three characters and natural English narration. Stories you have made stay yours to replay as often as you like.

Family is unlimited for normal family use, which in practice means up to 150 new stories a month. That is five stories a night, every night.

Yes, any time, from Billing. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated; cancellations take effect at the end of the period you have paid for.

A one-off purchase of ten extra stories that never expire. They are used only after your monthly allowance runs out, so they are perfect for busy months or holidays.
