Questions about plans
Is there a free story?
Yes. Your first personalised story is on us, straight after you sign up: up to 30 minutes, starring your child. It is one story per person, email address and device. Before you sign up, you can also type your child's name on the home page and read the opening chapter of a shared story with them in it.
What does StoryChoose cost?
Plus is $9 a month or $59 a year, with 30 new stories a month up to 30 minutes each. Family is $15 a month or $99 a year, with 50 new stories a month, 8 of them up to 60 minutes and the rest up to 30. Or buy a 10-story pack for $4.99: 10 stories up to 30 minutes each, one payment, nothing renews and the stories never expire. Or just one story for $2.99, up to 30 minutes.
What needs a plan or a pack?
After your free story, making another story, saving favourites, downloading MP3s, translating, sequels and family links need Plus, Family or a 10-story pack. While you have pack stories left you get downloads, every language and family links too.
How does renewal work?
Plus and Family renew automatically at the same price each month or year until you cancel. If you pay yearly, we email you a reminder 7 to 14 days before each yearly renewal. A 10-story pack is a single payment and never renews.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancel online any time from Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal and your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Your account is kept, and you can open and play every story you already made, even after your plan ends.
How many stories does Family include?
Family includes 50 new stories a month. Up to 8 of them can be hour-long adventures, the rest run up to 30 minutes. That is more than one story every night, with a long one for every weekend.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, from Billing. An upgrade, a downgrade or a move from monthly to yearly starts at your next renewal, so you are never charged twice for the same days.
I subscribed at an earlier price. Does anything change?
No. Existing subscribers keep their plan and the price they signed up at for as long as they stay subscribed.
How long do you keep our stories and narration?
Every story you make stays in your library for as long as you have an account. Narration is kept ready to play for a year on Plus (favourites always) and always on Family. After that it rests, and pressing play records it again in about a minute. Deleting a story deletes its narration too.
Can I get a refund?
If a renewal surprises you, ask within 48 hours and we refund it, no questions asked, as long as nothing was made or played since the renewal. That is once per card; otherwise payments are final.
How do you take payment?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, and your statement shows CLOUDVERG LLC. We never see or store your card details.
Can I give StoryChoose as a gift?
Yes: a year of Plus, three months of Plus or ten stories, at the prices on the gift page (the gifts of Plus are on sale until Christmas Day). You don't need an account to buy one, you can choose the day it arrives, and nothing renews. See the gift page.
Do I need an account before I pay?
No. Choose a plan or a pack, give your email, and we make the account for you as you check out. We email you a link to set a password afterwards.
